NXP Semiconductors
NXP Semiconductors, formerly known as Philips Semiconductors, was founded by the Dutch company Philips in 1953 and is headquartered in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. On August 31, 2006, the companys CEO, Franz van Houten, announced the companys new name to customers and employees in Berlin. NXP Semiconductors currently provides semiconductor, system and software solutions; used in automobiles, mobile phones, smart identification applications, TVs, set-top boxes and other electronic devices.
